Bard part number 5201-002BX is an OEM 3/8 inch liquid line filter drier used in Bard wall mount air conditioners and other Bard HVAC refrigeration circuits to help keep the sealed system clean and dry. Installed in the liquid line, it is designed to trap debris and hold moisture in the desiccant so the metering device and compressor are better protected from contamination, acid formation, and restrictions that can lead to poor cooling performance or repeat service calls. This is the correct replacement when a Bard unit has been opened for a major repair such as compressor or coil work, or when replacing a restricted or saturated drier, and it should be matched to the original Bard part number and connection size for proper fit and refrigerant flow.
