Bard part 5651-143 is an OEM thermal expansion valve with 3/8 in by 3/8 in connections, designed to meter refrigerant into the evaporator and maintain stable superheat so your Bard wall mount air conditioner cools correctly under changing load conditions. A worn or restricted TXV can show up as poor capacity, coil flooding or starving, and erratic suction pressure, so replacing it with the correct Bard valve helps restore factory performance and protects the compressor.
