Bard 8402-095 is a 190 degree F one shot limit control used as a safety temperature cutoff in select Bard wall mount air conditioning heater packages, including EHW36AHC09 and EHW36AHC12 applications. This OEM thermal cut off is designed to open the circuit if abnormal high temperature is sensed to help protect the electric heat section and surrounding components. Because one shot limits typically do not reset after they trip, replacing a failed 8402-095 should also include confirming airflow, heat kit wiring, and proper operating temperatures so the new control is not immediately forced open again. Verify your model and serial number against the Bard parts list to confirm correct fit before ordering.
