Bard part 8406-103 is an OEM .55 inch water column pressure switch used on select Bard wall mounted gas/electric equipment to prove proper draft/airflow before allowing heat operation to continue. When the inducer and venting are doing their job, this switch closes at its rated set point to help the control board verify safe combustion conditions; if the pressure falls out of range, it will open and typically interrupt the heating sequence to prevent unsafe operation. Because pressure switches are set-point specific, match the rating and the original part number to your unit model and serial, and replace any brittle or restricted tubing at the same time to avoid repeat pressure-related lockouts.
