Bard 8552-022 is an OEM run capacitor rated 20 MFD at 370V, used to support proper operation of single phase motors in Bard wall mounted HVAC equipment by helping the motor start smoothly and maintain stable running torque. A weak or open capacitor can cause hard starting, overheating, nuisance trips, or a fan or compressor that hums but will not run, so replacing with the correct Bard specified rating helps restore reliable performance. This capacitor is built to match Bard electrical and mounting requirements, including the 1-3/4 inch oval can size noted for fit in the original bracket, and it should be verified by part number and the MFD and voltage printed on your existing capacitor before ordering.
