Bard MFAD-3 - Motorized fresh air damper
The Bard MFAD-3 motorized fresh air damper is an OEM ventilation option used on compatible Bard wall-mount air conditioners and heat pumps to bring controlled outdoor air into the unit through the factory fresh air inlet openings and mix it with the conditioned airstream. This internally mounted, two-position damper is driven by a 24 VAC motor and uses spring return so it closes on power loss, and it is commonly wired to open whenever the indoor blower is energized or to a dedicated ventilation output for occupancy-based control. If you are troubleshooting inadequate ventilation, damper blades not moving, or a failed actuator, replacing with the correct Bard MFAD-3 helps restore proper outside air introduction and maintains the unit’s intended ventilation performance.
